Egyptian mummies, Baden-Württemberg State Museum

From October 6, 2007 to March 24, 2008, the Württemberg State Museum in Stuttgart is showing the large state exhibition "Egyptian Mummies - Immortality in the Land of the Pharaohs". A little more than 100 years after the Stuttgart manufacturer Ernst von Sieglin donated his extensive Egyptian collection to the Württemberg State Museum, his legacy is the reason for the Great State Exhibition. With a total of more than 350 top-class exhibits from numerous renowned European museums, including the British Museum in London, the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna and the National Museums Scotland in Edinburgh, the Landesmuseum Württemberg presents the mummification system of the ancient Egyptians, which evolved over a period of four centuries thousands of years, is the focus of the exhibition. The Great National Exhibition takes its visitors into the fascinating world of thought of ancient Egypt and shows - embedded in the religious ideas of the ancient Egyptians - mummies of adults and children.
