BAD MUSKAU CASTLE

Lighting design for Bad Muskau Castle – Prince Pückler in the light

For the new permanent exhibition in Bad Muskau Castle, the former residence of Prince Hermann von Pückler-Muskau, Fischer & Partner developed a lighting concept that harmonizes historical substance, narrative design and museum requirements.

The castle is located in the heart of the famous Pückler Park in Bad Muskau, a UNESCO World Heritage Site – a place of international importance and cultural appeal.

The exhibition design was created by the renowned Kocmoc.net studio and allows visitors to experience Pückler's life, thoughts and work – as a travel writer, landscape visionary and designer – in a multifaceted way.

The lighting design accompanies this approach with a restrained, warm white ambient lighting and subtle accents that gracefully illuminate handwriting, objects and spatial impressions.

Light that doesn't direct – but accompanies. Technology that disappears. Effect that lasts.

The luminaires are modular, conservation-friendly, and invisibly integrated into the palace architecture. This preserves the spatial effect and keeps the focus entirely on the history.
