Pomeranian State Museum

Opening of the 2nd section of the exhibition on regional history:

"From the Swedish period to the imperial spa"

For the permanent exhibition on regional history in the Pomeranian State Museum, Fischer & Partner developed a restrained, architecturally-related lighting design that atmospherically accompanies and supports the periods from the Swedish period to the Imperial Spa period.

The exhibition design was realized by the renowned planning office Bertron.Schwarz.Frey from Ulm, which is known for its clear, narrative and space-related exhibition architecture.

The lighting design follows this structure with a finely tuned lighting dramaturgy:– Neutral white background light provides orientation and calm.– Warm white accents set the focus and mood.– Integrated showcase lighting enables a shadow-free, color-neutral presentation, especially for delicate objects.

Here, light becomes a silent narrator – reserved, precise, respectful of content and space.

The exhibition guides visitors through several centuries of Pomeranian history—from shifts of power to the cultural heyday of the Baltic Sea. The lighting creates transitions, emphasizes differences, and yet maintains a consistent atmospheric quality across all time periods.

The entire lighting technology was integrated into the architecture in a minimalist manner, so that the focus remains entirely on the objects and contents – in keeping with a modern, museum-like understanding of lighting.

A lighting concept that doesn't stand out – but carries the message. For rooms with history.
