MONARCHY AND MODERNITY
State Exhibition “Monarchy and Modernity” 2006 – History in the Light of Kings
As part of the 2006 state exhibition "Monarchy and Modernity," the heyday of royal power and its transition into the modern era were impressively presented. Magnificent exhibits, impressive presentations, and biographical depictions of the monarchs illustrated not only the personalities of the kings but also key events in contemporary history.
The exhibition's lighting concept supported this historical journey through daylight-like, neutral white ambient lighting, combined with warm white accentuation that specifically staged highlights, emphasized materials, and created spatial depth.
Light and shadow accompanied visitors through the exhibition – a dramatic device that not only provided orientation but also created emotional depth. The targeted lighting lent the historical objects radiance and presence without exaggerating their impact – a respectful, clear, and at the same time atmospheric implementation for a state exhibition that made history visible.
