STATE MUSEUM OF WÜRTTEMBERG

Lighting design for the permanent exhibition at the Landesmuseum Württemberg – showcase lighting with system and precision

For the redesign of the permanent exhibition at the Württemberg State Museum – from the Stone Age to the 19th century – we developed a tailor-made display case lighting system that meets the highest conservation, design, and functional requirements.

The system is based on minimalist, daylight-like integrated light lines for ambient lighting, as well as a modular magnetic spotlight system that can be used in both warm white and cool white light colors. Over 2,340 display cases have been equipped with this solution.

An essential quality feature of this showcase lighting is:

There is only one shadow. The targeted lighting creates a clear, natural lighting effect – like direct daylight. The neutral white base light ensures uniform illumination, while the accent lights in warm or cool white light can specifically highlight details – depending on the material, theme, or dramatic design of the exhibition.

This creates a balanced lighting atmosphere that makes content visible, presents objects respectfully, and supports visitor guidance – without technical dominance, but with great impact.
