FOREIGN REPRESENTATIONS

Lighting design for the planning competition – Corporate design of a foreign representation of the Federal Republic of Germany

As part of an international planning competition, we developed a lighting concept for the new corporate design of a German diplomatic mission abroad. The goal was to combine architecture, functionality, and representation in a consistent design concept – taking into account diplomatic restraint, security requirements, and aesthetic clarity.

The lighting design is aligned with the architectural lines of the design and contributes to the identity of the office within the urban context. The exterior lighting subtly yet effectively stages the building and emphasizes its public function. Inside, zoned lighting provides orientation, atmosphere, and flexible usability for everyday use and for official events.

The focus was on modular, energy-efficient solutions that could be integrated into the facade and interior design. Lighting planning was considered an integral part of the overall design – balancing design standards, safety-related precision, and international representation.
