VIA REGIA GÖRLITZ

Via Regia – 3rd Saxon State Exhibition in the Kaisertrutz Görlitz

As part of the third Saxon State Exhibition, an impressive exhibition titled "Via Regia – 800 Years of Movement and Encounter" was created at the Kaisertrutz Görlitz. The renowned Stuttgart-based firm Jangled Nerves was responsible for the design concept. Fischer & Partner Lichtdesign was commissioned to develop and implement a multi-room lighting concept that powerfully intertwines history, staging, and architecture.

Light tour through eight centuries of European transport and cultural history

The Via Regia, one of Europe's oldest and most important trade and cultural routes, was presented in a multifaceted exhibition. Light played the role of a quiet narrator: orientation, atmosphere, and thematic emphasis were achieved through precise lighting – restrained but decisive.

The historic structure of the Kaisertrutz required particular sensitivity. Our lighting design adapted to the existing architecture, created zones of tranquility and focused contemplation, and directed the eye specifically toward exhibits, graphics, and media installations. Depending on the exhibition area, different light colors, intensities, and directions were used – serving the content, never taking center stage.
