HOTEL TASCHENBERGPALAIS

Lighting development and tailor-made lighting series for the hotel

Taschenbergpalais Kempinski Dresden

For the renowned Taschenbergpalais Kempinski Hotel in Dresden, Fischer & Partner developed a tailor-made lighting series based on the designs of interior designer Markus Hilzinger. The goal was to create a complete product family that would perfectly fit into the hotel's exclusive interior design in terms of form, materials, and lighting technology.

Development & Manufacturing

Traditional craftsmanship meets exclusive hotel design

Development and production took place in close collaboration with traditional Venetian metal and glass manufacturers, as well as partners in the Czech Republic. Each component was individually tailored to the hotel's interior design:

Materials & Details

  • Lamp body: made in Venice from high-quality brass, color-coordinated exactly with the furniture fittings of the house
  • Glass body: also handcrafted in Venice
  • Lampshades: Czech-made, made of washable materials in finely coordinated textures and fabric colors
  • Surfaces: all lights were precisely treated in the same factory using identical technology – for a uniform, high-quality effect
  • Design quality: no visible screws; all lights appear to be made from a single piece

Product family

A consistent, maintenance-friendly system

The result is a complete product line consisting of:

  • Floor lamps
  • Table lamps
  • Wall lights
  • Pendant lights

All luminaires are uniform in design, material, lamp type, and power supply technology. Particular attention was paid to the use of identical standard lamps in all luminaires – to minimize variation during operation and ensure that these lamps will still be easily replaceable even in 20 years.

This guarantees ease of maintenance, interchangeability and design coherence in all rooms.

Result

A tailor-made lighting series – functional, high-quality, aesthetic

The project demonstrates how exclusive lighting design, craftsmanship, and attention to detail create an atmosphere that meets the standards of a luxury hotel: functional, durable, and at the same time of timeless beauty.
