SCHÜCO
Lighting design for Schüco – new building “Haus der Technik”
For the international competition for the lighting of the new “Haus der Technik” building of the company Schüco, Fischer & Partner Lichtplanung was invited to develop a tailor-made lighting concept for the new innovation center in Bielefeld.
The architecture comes from the internationally renowned Copenhagen-based firm 3XN Architects – known for sustainable, dynamic spatial concepts with high material quality and transparency.
The new building impresses with its fully glazed shell, a wide-spanning glass roof and a monumental atrium with curved galleries, illuminated ceilings and architecturally integrated light lines – an industrial building of exceptional elegance.
The lighting design follows the clarity of the architecture with a daylight-like, neutral white basic light and complementary invisible warm white spots that specifically accentuate the spatial depth and materiality – precise, reduced, atmospheric.
Here, light becomes a continuation of the architecture – not decoration.
The concept is modular, supports daylight flow and transparency, and is designed for low maintenance, energy efficiency and architectural restraint – entirely in keeping with the material and design standards of Schüco and 3XN.
